Electric autos in DR: 300 and counting

Santo Domingo.- The future outlook for electric vehicles seems upbeat. Many of the most developed countries are still wagering on that technology and continue to motivate the non-use of internal combustion, diesel and gasoline autos.

There are even nations that have set deadlines to close the issue.

Electric technology is a developing area and cannot be said with certainty that it has matured.

An electric vehicle is one that connects to the national electricity grid or to a power plant, for example, as in the Dominican case, where the grid does not always work and sometimes what is done is to charge a battery and go.

In the Dominican Republic there are around 300 electric cars, according to Charles Sánchez, president of Zero Emision RD.
