Lack of asphalt turns Puerto Plata highway into ‘hell’

File.

Santo Domingo.- Deputy Juan Medina Santos on Thurs. labeled the Navarrete-Altamira span of the Navarrete-Puerto Plata highway as abandoned on lack of asphalt, which in his view has turned travel to that tourist city into a hell.

The legislator of the opposition party (PRM) said in November last year the asphalt layer of the stretch of road was removed. “Today, it is hell to travel that way.”

Quoted by Hoy, Medina said the road was left with the old cement and potholes.

He added that the tires of hundreds of vehicles around the area have been damaged.
