Cyber-world crimes from Dominican Republic jails

Santo Domingo.- In the cyber world, some criminals disguise themselves in a profile of some social network with photos of other people, with tastes or interests similar to those of a boy or girl or even the exact preferences of young people to catch many and extort them.

Moreover, calls to inform about alleged awards are also very common through phones and even the theft or cloning of cards as well as ID theft.

According to network technology specialist, Hiddekel Morrison, cyber-crime is a derivation of traditional crime, and is the incorporation of technology into traditional criminal practice, since through this means they transgress the law and carry out any type of procedure regardless of legal regulations, whether theft, assault, extortion, blackmail, manipulation, and to that extent there are gadgets that the virtual criminal resorts to.

“This type of crime is associated with the materialization using technology or technological platforms, such as when the theft of the identity of a digital profile is carried out, even when a mobile device is used to perform an act of extortion,” the expert says, quoted by Listin Diario.
