Poll says Fernandez and Abinader will win primaries

Santo Domingo.- Former president Leonel Fernández, of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), and Luis Abinader, of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), lead the intention of voting in their respective political organizations for the October 6 primaries, with 70% the first and 87% the second.

A survey by the pollster BerlandTeram-SISGLO found that Fernández has 70%, versus Gonzalo Castillo’s 29%.

“When asked in this segment,” who do you think will finally win the primary elections in the PLD?” the majority, 70%, believe it will be Fernandez. While 27% say it will be Castillo.

While for the PRM primaries, Abinader is the favorite candidate with 87% intention to vote against Hipólito Mejía, with 9% and David Collado achieved 3%.

“When you ask yourself in this segment, who do you think will finally win the primary elections in the PRM? The majority, 82%, believe it will be Abinader, while 11% say it will be Mejía. The remaining 7% is shared between the other candidates and the undecided.”
