Biggest Dominican bank commits to Principles of Responsibility

Santo Domingo.- The Banco Popular Dominicano on Thur. announced its commitment to the Principles of Responsible Banking, by becoming a signatory partner of this global alliance among 250 financial institutions and the United Nations, being the first Dominican and Caribbean island banking entity to join this international coalition.

“The initiative aims to align the work of the global financial sector with the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on climate change, helping to incorporate sustainability in all areas of the banking business and in relations with its stakeholders,” the country’s largest bank said in a statement.
