Santo Domingo.- The western part of the capital woke up Friday covered with smoke as a result of a blaze at the Haina landfill since last Wednesday.

As on previous occasions with similar fires at the Duquesa landfill, pulmonary specialists have warned of the consequences that smoke causes in health, such as coughing.

Local authorities blame the blaze on “criminal hands.”
