Ruling party ‘clash of egos’ roils the country

Santo Domingo.-  Dominican ambassador to Washington and ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) senior leader, José Tomás Pérez, on Thurs. said the organization’s current situation will “prompt its division.”

“Everything indicates that the direction of the PLD is towards division. A clash of egos that will leave the country in distress. Meanwhile, from the stands of the opposition is deliriously applauded,” tweeted Pérez.

Pérez added however that he would not quit the PLD despite that situation. “I announce as of today that whatever happens, regardless of the circumstances, I STAY IN THE PLD. There I was born politically and there I will die.”
