Foreign minister announces Dominican-Congo ties

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Foreign minister, Miguel Vargas, and Congo Republic ambassador in Cuba, Rosalie Kama-Niamayoua, on Thurs. agreed to establish diplomatic relations between their countries.

The Congo is the ninth African nation with which the country formalizes bilateral ties during Vargas’ tenure.

He said he has focused on energizing foreign policy with countries “with which we consider there is great potential to develop a relationship that may benefit our people.”

The official said the relationship seeks to explore areas of cooperation “such as trade, investment, culture and sport, among others.”
