A few quick climate facts about the DR

Thanks to its location in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic is a destination with summer sun all year round. The months of December until the beginning of March, which coincide with the coldest winters in North America and Europe, have the most pleasant weather in the DR.

Mornings and afternoons have cool breezes and temperatures as low as 18° C (64°F), while daytime temperatures range between 25° C and 27° C (77–81°F).

In the mountainous areas of the country, such as Jarabacoa and Constanza, temperatures can drop further, with days starting at 10° C (50°F) and some nights below zero (32°F) degrees.

Summer is the warmest and rainiest season in the country, while the humidity is most intense from April to October. Temperatures are around 32 ° C (90°F) at the peak of the day, and storms are more frequent but short-lived.

In recent years, climate change has taken effect in the Caribbean region, and the Dominican Republic has not been spared. There are hotter days than in the past, and Mother Nature has been more unpredictable.

Whichever place you choose to vacation in the DR, it will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting and unique experiences, since “the DR has it all.”
