Eye doctor wins Dominican Emigrant Prize

Santo Domingo.- Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas n Mon. presented the “Dominican Emigrant Prize Mr. Oscar de la Renta” to Dr Carlos Dante Heredia García, during a ceremony in the Carlos Piantini Hall, of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.

The winner of this second annual event is a prominent ophthalmologist resident in Spain, elected unanimously.

He’s an honorary member of the prestigious Barraquer Ophthalmological Institute; of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, in addition to the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic, Heredia García is a world pioneer in the field of ocular immunology.
