Raids in highland towns target most wanted Dominican kingpin

Santo Domingo.- A search and capture operation was carried out over the weekend in the central highland towns of Jarabacoa and Constanza, and other areas of La Vega province, on reports that fugitive kingpin César Emilio Peralta, “César el Abusador” could be hiding out there.

Heavily armed National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) agents using drones have been posted on all streets in the area and the highway to Santiago.

They also showed up outside a popular tourist complex in the area.

Last week, several people were arrested in a similar operation in the city of La Vega, including a National Police sergeant who had several ecstasy pills.
