Prominent general fired after chilling video shows Police execution

Santo Domingo.- A chilling amateur video aired in the program of investigative journalist Nuria Piera shows a Police officer allegedly executing one of three inmates who had escaped from Vista del Valle prison in the northeastern city San Francisco de Macorís.

Just two days after the execution of the inmate Jeffry Sandoval, National Police chief Jose Polanco announced the firing of Juan Ramon de la Cruz Martinez, a prominent general who was the Northeast Region commander, headquartered in San Francisco.

Police spokesman Maximo Baez, via Twitter, who didn’t specify the reasons behind De la Cruz’s dismissal, said the new district director is general Orison Olivence Minaya.
