Dominican Republic halts municipal elections on massive glitch

Santo Domingo.-For the first time in its history the Dominican Republic halted its municipal elections on massive failure of the electronic voting system, in several major provinces, according to the Central Electoral Board (JCE).

The announcement was made by JCE president, Julio César Castaños Guzmán, who said that new elections will be held at an “opportune date.”
