Centro Leon announces fifth congress on Caribbean culture

Santiago.– Centro Leon in Santiago announced the fifth annual “International Music, Identity and Cultural Congress” of the Caribbean (MIC) will be held from April 12-14.

The fifth edition will be dedicated to the “Caribbean Music and Dance Folklore in Times of Globalization,” the organizers said. The MIC will also pay attention to the contributions made by the Caribbean to other cultures throughout the world, and vice versa.

Other topics included in the program are the discussion on the creation of a cultural heritage, the copyright issue, the impact UNESCO’s Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity has had on the traditional music and dance of the Caribbean.
