Light rains, lower temperatures

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) forecasts light rains for the Atlantic coast and Caribbean plain Monday morning, from a trough over the northeast.

It said skies will be mostly cloudy Monday afternoon, but the country will begin to feel the impact of a high pressure system, with significantly lower probability of rain.

Onamet forecasts strong wind and lower than normal temperatures, from the northeast wind, with widely scattered showers for the northeast mountain range and possibly the Cibao Valley.

It issued advisories for the Atlantic coast where small craft should remain in port, on strong winds higher than normal waves.
