Murder-suicide claims five

Santo Domingo.- After four months into a relationship Vicky Talia Irrizari Mendez, 36, tried to escape from her ex, Gabriel Emmanuel Lami Roman and went to her mother’s house. He had gone there several times seeking reconciliation with threats.

That’s the neighbors’ version of a story that ended in tragedy Sunday, when the man killed Irrizari, her two-year old daughter, her mother and her sister, prior to taking his own life.

The incident occurred after 1pm in apartment of a building in the sprawling Invivienda sector, of Santo Domingo East, where according to National Police spokesman, Maximo Baez, Irrizari ended her stormy relationship with Lami, 26, on December 24.

Yesterday, Lami stripped the service weapon from policeman Angel Vasquez, while at the agent’s home and went to the house where he committed the crime.

Lami irrational rage also ended the life of Irrizari’s mother, Sahara Mendez, 54, her sister Jeimy Luciano Mendez, 29, and her young, Mia Camila Feliz Luciano.

Kisauris Sabino Mendez, 21, another sister of Irrizari’s, was seriously injured with one shot to the head and is being attended at the Luis Eduardo Aybar hospital.

According to Police the murderer-suicide was brought to trial in August after assaulting several relatives when they tried to protect Lidia Mabel Martinez, who was his paramour.
