Opposition leader: President’s country only in his mind

Santo Domingo.- False, unreal, demagogic, shameful, repetitive, sophistic, are some the descriptions with which the country’s opposition leaders defined president Leonel Fernandez’s State of the Republic speech on Monday.

Ex president and opposition PRD party presidential candidate Hipólito Mejía said the address had “plenty as falsifications, “the same he has been doing during his entire term in office.”

In a brief statement, Mejía affirmed that the President “took advantage of the occasion of February 27 to describe a country that exists only in his mind, very different from the situation of calamity that Dominicans suffer every day.”

He announced that he will issue a “point by point” response this week.
