Agents arrest American wanted in New York for several murders

SANTO DOMINGO. – Agents arrested Tuesday night an American citizen wanted in New York to face charges of several murders and drug trafficking, and will be escorted out of the country in the next few hours.

The Antinarcotics Agency (DNCD) said Jose Gavillan, 24, was arrested in San Francisco (northeast) where he had hid for several months.

In a statement DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron didn’t specify if the detainee is of Dominican origin.

“That person, whom according to the documents provided to the Dominican authorities is deemed highly dangerous, will be held a cell of the DNCD jail until the required protocol for his subsequent expulsion to the United States is complied with,” the official said.
