Quakes continue to shake Hispaniola

Port-au-Prince.- Two mild quakes of varying magnitudes shook the Haiti capital and Dominican Republic’s southeast today, which the US Geodetic Survey registered and a 3.1 magnitude in the Mona Passage and 4.6 in Haiti, which panicked the population, though the authorities have yet to inform of any damages.

The Haiti tremor was felt at 9:51am, 37 kilometers southeast of Port-au-Prince, at a depth of 4.9 kilometers, said the USGS.

In Dominican Republic the US Geodetic Survey registered it as a magnitude 3.1, at 9:22am, 105 kilometers deep in the Caribbean sea.

Starting form Haiti’s devastating quake in 2010, their average has increased in the entire island of Hispaniola, although none have reached the level of moderate.
