Two newspapers to publish 2 polls Monday

Santo Domingo. – Newspaper Hoy and Diario Libre, among the leading Dominican dailies, on Friday announced the publication of surveys on electoral preference starting Monday, conducted by the pollsters Gallup and Greenberg Quinlan respectively.

Gallup’s last survey published in the Dominican Republic in November, which found that opposition PRD party presidential candidate Hipólito Mejía had 47.9 percent of the vote, while Danilo Medina of the ruling PLD, had 42.6 percent.

For its part, Greenberg Quinlan’s last local poll was in 2008, when it gave 55 percent to then PLD candidate Leonel Fernandez, who won with 54% that year.
