Beleaguered senator requests probe into his allegedly corrupt acts

Santo Domingo.- San Juan de la Maguana senator Felix Bautista on Friday requested a full investigation from the Justice Ministry, into accusations of alleged corrupt practices in Government works and his company’s projects in Haiti.

After meeting with Justice minister Radhamés Jiménez, Bautista said he asked the official to conduct a wide probe aimed at clearing his image. “As a citizen responsible for my actions and behavior and as an ex official, it’s my duty and obligation to manage taxpayers’ money responsibly during my tenure in the State Works Supervisory Office.”

“I requested a wide and painstaking investigation on this denunciation, an audit by the Accounts Chamber, the General Controllers’ Office, the Engineers Guild (Codia) and any other entity deemed necessary,” says the lawmaker’s letter to Jimenez.
