Santo Domigo.– The Presidency of Haiti described as unfair the allegations linking the neighboring country’s president Michel Martelly to alleged acts of corruption involving San Juan de la Maguana Senator Felix Bautista.
Through Martelly’s Twitter account the Haitian Presidency categorically rejected the allegations against the head of state, who has "been linked to a corruption case involving companies or individuals from the Dominican Republic."
Dominican prosecutors said Monday they are investigating allegations of corruption against Bautista whose companies won millions of dollars in construction contracts followingthe 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
Theinvestigation comes right after investigative journalist Nuria Piera aired astory called "Path of Millions" including spreadsheets allegedly compiled from bank and property records that showed Bautista’s companies had given US$2.5 million to Martelly.
