Veteran journalist says criminal plan aims to eliminate him

SANTIAGO.- The journalist and former editor in chief of newspaper La Informacion de Santiago, yesterday denounced a criminal plan to physically eliminate him.

Apolinar Núñez, quoted by news source diariolibre.com, on Thursday said someone loosened most of the lug nuts his vehicle’s four wheels when he left the Las Aromas golf course, and that an unidentified man recently threatened him as he walked along a street.

The veteran journalist, who produces two programs on the local Channel 16 Teleunion, said the Police investigates the case, adding that the alleged criminal plan will not stop him from continuing his criticism against political and business sectors.
