First ever presidential candidates’ debate postponed

SANTO DOMINGO.- The president of the young business leaders grouped in ANJE on Wednesday revealed that one of the presidential candidates has yet to confirm his participation in the first ever debate between contenders to the National Palace, but they expect it in the next few days.

Manuel Cabral said ANJE had received a missive from both candidates in the last days, but only one of them confirmed his participation, but they expect the other part will do the same.

As to which one of the candidate hadn’t confirmed –either ruling party PLD Danilo Medina, opposition PRD par Hipolito Mejia- Cabral said only that they’ll provide all the details in the next few days, when everything is ready.

The debate was slated for April 17, but has been postponed for Thursday, May 3.
