No politics in alleged Haiti plot, lead prosecutor says

SANTO DOMINGO.- National District prosecutor Jenny Berenice Reynoso said the investigation into the alleged plot to destabilize the government of Haiti president Michelle Martelly has been ongoing, and whose main suspect is retired colonel Pedro Julio (Pepe) Goico.

She said a judge authorized the wiretap in which Goico is heard instructing the Haitian businessman Pierre Kanzki to launch a smear campaign against Martelly.

Reynoso said calling the affaire political doesn’t concern her because she’s a career prosecutor. "You can rest assured because it’s an investigation of law, I don’t know what the Haitian State expects, nor what the decision is going to be, because the measure is going to be what the investigation states according to Law."
