Authorities probe murder of Taiwanese diplomat

Santo Domingo.- Dominican authorities investigate the murder of a Taiwanese diplomat who was found dead Tuesday at her apartment in Santo Domingo, according to press reports.

The victim was identified as Julia Ou, 55, a second secretary at the Republic of China Embassy in the Dominican Republic, who had served as a secretary of the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission (OCAC) in the country for the last year.

Ou had worked overtime and was in her office until 10 p.m. the night before she was found stabbed to death, the report said.

The police are currently investigating the alleged murder, but more details such as possible suspects and motives are not yet available.
