Presidential election to mark a LatAm milestone, OAS

Santo Domingo.- The Organization of American States’ (OAS) Electoral Observers affirmed Wednesday that the country’s next elections will be transparent and a milestone for Latin America.

Delegation chief and ex president of Uruguay Tabaré Vázquez said the OAS technicians and specialists working in the country are satisfied with the information received thus far.

Vázquez and the delegation’s other members, whom met yesterday with the heads of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), has 11 interviews on tap, with president Leonel Fernandez and the presidential candidates among them. "Dominican can feel proud. The information we have reveals the seriousness, responsibility and professionalism with which this Board works."
