Son of rebuked ex Police Chief shoots Health chief’s nephew

Santo Domingo. – A son of the former Police chief Pedro de Jesus Candelier shot and injured a nephew of the of Public Health minister Bautista Rojas, during an argument around 2am Friday, local media report citing police sources.

Eduard Candelier, a Police captain, fired one bullet and injured Roberto Rosario Rojas amid an incident in an eatery on in the upscale sector of Naco.

Rosario is being treated in a private clinic while Candelier’s son is being held in the Naco Police Precinct.

Also being held for questioning together with Candelier is German Robles, linked to the opposition PRD party, who accompanied the shooter at the time of the incident.

As recent as yesterday the ex Police Chief had been the target of rebuke by many sectors for his statement that his armed team would “explode anybody” to defend the PRD’s votes.
