Santo Domingo. – The Public Health Ministry will set forth an immediate plan lasting 60 days to prevent contagion of the main latent diseases and improve all hospital services nationwide.
It also includes efforts to socially mobilize slums and highly populated communities to prevent waterborne diseases such as malaria, dengue, leptospirosis, cholera and others.
Public Health said it will start a pilot project in southwestern provinces Elías Piña, San Juan and Azua to implement initial response to access social security, to later implement nationwide.
In a statement, Public Health added that among the other measures to be inaugurated in the next two months figure 33 primary care centers in various zones.
The announcement comes in the wake of continuing reports of suspected cases o cholera in the town of Tamboril, central Santiago province.
