Grenade blast kills ex seargeant, minor

Villa Altagracia, Dominican Republic.- A teen and a man who was manipulating a grenade died from the blast in that central town at 12 noon yesterday.

The tragedy occurred in a yard of the sector Los Lotes, where the relatives say the fatal victims were Wilfredo Polanco, 24, and Francisco Paula, 13, who was taken to the Darío Contreras hospital, Santo Domingo East, where he died hours later.

The local media report that Polanco was an ex army sergeant who had been discharged a short time ago and was manipulating the grenade in front of three children of the same family. Two of the minors were also injured.
