Drug agency finds cocaine in computer

Santo Domingo.- The NationalDrug Control Department (DCND) has prevented two packets of cocaine weighing2.26kgs from being sent to the Netherlands. The drugs were hidden inside acomputer, announced the anti-narcotic agency yesterday.

The computer, which wasbeing sent to the Dutch city of Utrecht, was discovered in the Dominican PostalInstitute (INPOSDOM) cargo area when employees and DNCD agents were conductinga routine inspection, said the agency. “This is a method used byinternational narco-traffickers to take drugs out of the country in more than50 cases detected recently,” stated DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón.

Lebron praisedIMPOSDOM employees for their cooperation and said the packages had been sentfor forensic testing. So far no one has been arrested in connection with thecase.
