Yzaguirre, US officials host 4th of July celebration

Santo Domingo.- The U.S. Embassy celebrated the 236th anniversary of Independence with a reception hosted by Ambassador Raul and Yzaguirre.

The activity, held at the U.S. diplomat’s residence, was attended by senior Dominican military and police officials, diplomats and consuls, political leaders, journalists and personalities from various sectors of society.

The U.S. Ambassador and his wife received guests, accompanied by U.S. military attaché Lt. Col. David O’Connell, and charge d’affaires and general consul, William Weissman and his wife Elizabeth Garrida.

The event’s guest of honor was Dominican born U.S. Marine Corps corporal Winder Pérez, injured in Afghanistan in January.
