Anti-corruption chief busy with major cases

Santo Domingo.- Justice Ministry Anti-corruption Dept. (DPCA) Director Hotoniel Bonilla will interrogate ex ambassador in Colombia Angel Lockward Friday, in connection with alleged irregularities in his tenure.

The subpoena was issued by the official, who said Colombia is cooperating with the investigation into Lockward’s dealings at the embassy, according to elcaribe.com.do.

Bonilla said the former diplomat should appear at his offices at 9:30am. “Lockward’s case basically refers to alleged abuse of office regarding tax exemptions and other actions.”

DPCA agents raided Lockward’s offices last year.

Other cases move

Bonilla said just as Lockward’s case, investigations advance on the former head of the Dominican Municipal League, Amable Aristy and ex Santiago mayo Jose Enrique Sued

Other pending cases include a probe into the tenure of now San Juan province senator Felix Bautista, and the Transport Reform Office (Opret), headed by Diandino Peña, among others.
