BQ Hotel (formerly Delta) charged with electricity fraud

Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry’s Electric System Prosecutor (Pégase) filed fraud charges against the BQ Hotel (formerly Delta), owned by the realtor Tacubaya.

The Hotel’s owners are accused of tampering with the meter to show a lower consumption for each month.

Pegase prosecutor Moses Ferrer said the electricity distributor company EDESUR was cheated out of more than RD$11.0 million, according to the evidence filed in the National District 5th Instruction Court.

The official said the evidence clearly shows that the hotel’s owners were clearly sought to consume the electricity illegally.
