Fernandez calls for evaluation of policies against femicide

Santo Domingo.– President Leonel Fernandez condenmed Friday the wave of femicides in the country and he suggested, if necessary, to reassess and make amendments to policies, in order to prevent these acts of bloodshed.

"If those policies have failed, we must submit them to an examination, and on that basis we have to make the necessary adjustments. We can not consider ourselves defeated," the president said in an interview on the steps of the National Palace.

Fernandez was adamant in defending the contributions of the government to prevent the killing of women and pointed out that thanks to the measures implemented, the femicides are less.
