U.S. government praises work of Customs employees

Santo Domingo.– The U.S. government recognized the efficiency, cleanliness and transparency of the Customs Agency (DGA) employees in charge of handling the X-ray equipment at Caucedo port.

The ceremony was led by Jovino Lafuente, representative in the country of the Container Security Initiative (CSI), an agency of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. CSI is a program intended to help increase security for maritime containerized cargo shipped to the United States from around the world.

"The reason for this recognition is based on the professionalism with which Dominican agents have acted since the Caucedo port began operating this program," said Lafuente.
