SUV rams into bus stop, kills six

La Vega, Dominican Republic.- Six people have died thus far and two were hospitalized in serious condition from an auto accident 8am Monday at the town of Ranchito, La Vega province (central).

The accident occurred when an SUV driven by Ramon Radhamés Garcia rammed into a group of people waiting for a bus outside City Hall, according to preliminary reports.

Metropolitan Transit Authority spokesman Jose Jaquez said the driver was arrested and his SUV was torched at the Ranchito bridge by town residents, backing up traffick.

The official said the driver, resident of nearby from San Francisco de Macoris, is being held by Police at La Vega.

Enteraterd.com reports that among the dead figure 4 Dominicans and two Haitians.
