Agents seize cocaine at busy port headed to Montreal, 1 arrest

Santo Domingo.- Around 30 packages of cocaine were seized in Caucedo Port, Boca Chica Thursday night, inside a container headed to Montreal, Canada.

The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) said one person was arrested and others are being sought in connection with the case.

"The drugs were in a package placed inside a 20-foot container number MSCU6604299, which had footwear of various types inside, from the Santiago Free Zone Phase I," the agency said.

In a statement, the DNCD added that Wallins Jiménez Soriano is being held for questioning at its headquarter, but the drug’s specific weigth wasn’t provided.
