April 1965 Revolt hero’s remains head to the Pantheon

Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies approved the bill that orders the immediate transfer of freedom fighter Francisco Alberto Caamaño’s remains to the National Pantheon.

Culture Committee chair Manuel Jimenez said a group of specialists certified the authenticity of the remains of the hero of the April 1965 Revolt, averting the need to submit the bones to another DNA study.

Jimenez stressed the values ??which make the colonel and President of the Government in Arms a citizen worthy of occupying a revered place in Dominican Republic’s history.

President Danilo Medina is expected to sign the bill into Law.
