Fuel prices remain unchanged

Although the international cost of WTI averaged slightly above US$92, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Mipymes (MICM) kept the price of all fuels frozen for the week of 27 August to 2 September.

In this regard, premium gasoline will continue to be sold at RD$293.60 per gallon and regular gasoline at RD$274.50.

Regular diesel will maintain a price of RD$221.60 per gallon, optimum at RD$241.10 per gallon, avtur RD$298.91 per gallon, kerosene RD$338.10 per gallon.

Likewise, fuel oil #6 will continue to be sold at RD$192.11 per gallon; fuel oil 1%S will be at RD$211.77 per gallon.

While, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) remains at RD$147.60 per gallon and natural gas RD$28.97 per m3 maintains its price.

Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade Ramon Perez Fermin explained Friday that the international price of WTI presented an increase of 2.1% over last week, for an accumulated annual growth of 24.9%.

“The government of President Luis Abinader has once again considered maintaining fuel prices, thereby preventing us from seeing increases ranging from 12 pesos per gallon of premium gasoline, to exhorbitant costs such as regular and optimum diesel at almost 80 pesos per gallon,” added Perez Fermin.

The average weekly exchange rate is RD$53.59 from the Central Bank’s daily publications.
