Area of downpours could become storm

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) monitors a wide area of downpours and electrical storms with a high probability of becoming a tropical cyclone.

According to the agency in its weather report, this phenomenon associated with a low pressure system is located about 1,400 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles.

Currently, the area moves at a speed of 15 km/h. It has a 50% chance of reaching tropical cyclone status during the next 48 hours.
