Banco Popular, best and most innovative banking group

The British magazine World Finance, specializing in financial analysis and global economics, distinguished Banco Popular Dominicano as the “best banking group in the Dominican Republic” and the “most innovative bank in Latin America” for the year 2022.

This is the eighth time the bank has been recognized with the award for “best banking group in the Dominican Republic” and the third time as “most innovative bank in Latin America.”

In the 2022 edition of the World Finance Banking Awards, Popular was distinguished along with 19 other financial organizations worldwide in the category of the best banking group. Meanwhile, Popular was awarded five other banking institutions from different international regions in the most innovative bank category.

According to the magazine, two years after the pandemic, the banking sector is facing a radical change in terms of how the workplace is defined, how best to implement technology solutions holistically, as well as taking major steps in sustainable finance initiatives to address global crises in public health and climate change.

In an article published in World Finance, Popular CEO Christopher Paniagua said.

“In the immediate and medium-term future, the bank intends to continue its innovation-driven strategic focus,” the bank’s CEO said.
