Top Cabarete official surrenders to face forgery charges

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.- Cabarete Town Council director Gabriel Mora (Canoa) surrendered at the Puerto Plata Office of the Prosecutor Friday morning, to face several charges of corruption.

The political leader, who was being sought along with six others on an arrest warrant issued by Instruction judge Osiris Reyes, will be arraigned in Puerto Plata during the next few hours.

Three other members of the group including Mora’s brother were arrested and charged with forging checks on Wednesday, while two other officials are still at large.
