For the week of October 15 to 21, 2022, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MiPymes has ordered that fuels will be sold at the following prices:
Premium Gasoline will be sold at RD$293.60 per gallon, maintaining its price.
Regular Gasoline RD$274.50 per gallon maintains its price.
Regular Gasoil RD$221.60 per gallon maintains its price.
Gasoil Óptimo RD$241.10 per gallon maintains its price.
Avtur RD$273.91 per gallon maintains its price.
Kerosene RD$338.10 per gallon maintains its price.
Fuel Oíl #6 RD$192.11 per gallon maintains its price.
Fuel Oíl 1%S RD$211.77 per gallon maintains its price.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) RD$147.60 per gallon maintains its price.
Natural Gas RD$28.97 per m3 maintains its price.
The volatility of the international markets has once again triggered the extraordinary subsidy that the Dominican government allocates to avoid fuel price increases in the country, as announced by the vice-minister of Internal Commerce, Ramón Pérez Fermín, who said that for the week of Saturday 15 to Friday, October 21, more than 684 million pesos would be used to contain the increases.
He explained that the international price of WTI averaged 89.77, representing an increase of 7.2% from the previous week’s average, accumulating 23.3% so far this year.
He also detailed that the issues that continue to contribute to the significant volatility of the market continue to be the same ones that have affected it throughout 2022.
He recalled that subsidies vary from 100 million in some weeks to 1800, in which there has been a greater appreciation of finished products in the international market.
“In view of this scenario, the Dominican government assumes a sacrifice of 684 million to prevent price hikes in premium and regular gasoline of 30 pesos per gallon. With the subsidy, regular and optimum gasoil are prevented from suffering historical increases of more than 95 pesos per gallon, all this as a consequence of the rebound of WTI, but above all of the values of gasoline and diesel in the international markets,” said Pérez Fermín.
