‘Missing’ court papers birth yet another Dominican government scandal

Santo Domingo.- National District prosecutor YeniBerenice Reynoso on Monday reiterated that the plea bargaining agreement and swornstatements from money laundering convict Sobeida Félix never formed part of theproceedings and denied receiving the files upon arriving at the post.

The official’s statement spreads the scandal overpossible powerful figures named in plea bargaining by Felix, paramour of PuertoRican drug kingpin Jose Figueroa Agosto.

"In the case of the referred agreement it was never judiciallyprocessed and didn’t meet the rigor established by the procedural norm of the NationalDistrict Prosecutor’s Office and we’ll comply with what was promised to Felixon evidence from the original documents," Reynoso said.
