JCE president calls for religious, political and social tolerance

Santo Domingo.– Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario yesterday urged the population to make use of religious, political and social tolerance to contribute to the climate of peace that the country needs.

The official believes that there is a climate of intolerance in relation to freedom of religion, which is a fundamental right of human beings. Rosario considers that such a climate has taken over the minds and consciousness of some people in the country.

He stressed the importance that the State guarantees freedom of religion, as it did with non-Catholic weddings with legal backing.

Rosario spoke during the presentation of the fourth edition of JCE magazine "Democracy Issues", attended by representatives of political parties, journalists and opinion leaders.
