Haitians call for boycott of Dominican commerce

Santo Domingo.– The actions by Haitian groups against the recent Constitutional Court ruling that outlines the conditions for citizenship in the Dominican Republic, do not stop. Now "4 December Collective" issued a call to different sectors of society and to the government to boycott the Dominican commerce on Haitian soil.

Jean Robert Argand, former President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH), and present coordinator of the group, said the strategy focuses on commerce because it is the greatest area where the Haitians can hurt the interests of the Dominican Republic.

According to an article published by Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste, Argand said that the "4 December Collective" is making a request to the government to "take all of the measures in order to force compliance with the rights of our citizens beyond our frontiers, as well as inside the country."
