Garbage prevailed in Christmas in Santo Domingo and Santiago

Santo Domingo.– Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago woke up yesterday full of garbage, mainly in the inside streets of barrios where great piles blocked streets and sidewalks.

The most affected sectors were Capotillo, San Carlos, Villa Consuelo, Villa Francisca, Cristo Rey, and the areas of Luperon and La Fe, in Santo Domingo; and Villa Olimpica, Secara, Barrio Obrero, Pueblo Nuevo, Avenida 27 de Febrero, Los Santos and El Congo, in Santiago.

The status of solid waste collection in the barrios of Santo Domingo, due to the deplorable conditions of Duquesa Landfill, concerns both residents and community leaders about the possibility of spreading diseases.
