Agents nab fugitive linked to drug cartel

Moca, Dominican Republic.- Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents arrested in the village La Hincha, alleged drug trafficker Jeremy Garcia Lopez (El Gordo), wanted in connection with the Cibao Cartel and who faces 10 charges in the United States.

Espaillat province prosecutor José Aníbal Carela said Garcia, wanted in a court of New York, was arrested during a raid of a residence on Tuesday, after failing to appear on a Supreme Court subpoena.

A DNCD statement features five photos of a "luxurious mansion" in which García resided in the town of Licey and "rarely seen in the country,” with a pool, security cameras, a disco, basketball court, central AC among other amenities.
