Two major forest fires rage out of control near Central Mountain towns

Santo Domingo.- A major forest fire is scorching a large area of mostly pine forests near the Central Mountain town of Constanza, where the authorities believe was set to prepare lands for crops.

Forest Service firefighters are on site trying to douse the blaze, according to local reports.

Flames as high as 30 feet are visible from town.

Another major fire has also been reported near the town of Restauracion, near the border with Haiti.
